Southampton round trip on 17th Feb

On the 7th Feb we made a round trip to Southampton. This seemed like a good opportunity to try out the on-board camera in overcast weather conditions as I was still not sure where the photographic limitations lay.

Photos from the first part of this trip start at DNC04818, a Eurocargo of Robinsons Haulage snapped near the start of the A27 dual carriageway West of Worthing and end with DNC04852, A Scania P280 reefer of Norbert Dentrassangle on Co-op contract work. Obviously the XPOLogistics priority is to re-brand the main ND fleet and leave the contract vehicles till last. There are still a few more photos to do from the outward trip.

Probably the most interesting item was LUA 255V, a Volvo B58-56 with Plaxton Supreme IV body. New to Wallace Arnold, she was last operated by Hilton’s Travel as “The Viking” and thence to Emsworth & District where she sat in their yard. From the photo she appears to be remarkably complete and still has the covers on the head rests. I would like to think she might be going for restoration rather than Valhalla.
